8A Lions. it’s hard to be humble when you’re king of the jungle!

do not forget to bring canned and non-perishable goods to your homebase if you are participating in the canned food drive.

the last day to bring food is monday, december 7th. remember not only are we competing for a pizza party for bringing the most items, but we are also helping out people who are less fortunate than we are.

do a good deed and you will be rewarded!

just a reminder about your assignment that’s due on monday, november 16th.

our team is sponsoring a photo booth during the activity on friday (oct 30th.) we are fundraising for misc. purposes (team shirts, fieldtrips, end of the year promotional ceremony) so make sure you promote our photo booth!!

this week is ums spirit week! each day of the week has a different theme:

monday- all black and orange (no blue jeans)

tuesday- crazy accessories: necklaces, neck ties, socks, belts, bracelets, headbands, etc BUT NO HATS! (uniforms required)

wednesday- no classes PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE (8am-1pm)

thursday-pumpkin day (uniforms required) pumpkin cutouts, pumpkin socks, pumpkin stickers, etc.

friday- freaky friday: costume day or dress down day (no: fake blood, toy weapons and any face make-up must be put on before arriving at school)

****any students who do not wish to participate in the spirit week dress themes are required to wear their uniforms.****

well lions…the storm is gone. (at least one of them is) we hope you enjoyed the day off today but it’s back to school tomorrow, thursday. hope you finished all of your homework and don’t forget it’s picture day!

for first quarter, 8A will be focusing on novel studies. the first book we will read is ISLAND OF THE BLUE DOLPHINS by scott o’dell. i have a class set which cannot leave the room so i have informed the students that if they wish to purchase a copy of their own, they may do so. new books may be purchased at bestseller and used copies may be available at hafa books in mangilao.

students are not required to have personal copies of the novels we will be covering but they may come in handy when it comes to assignments and/or projects.

after family fun day we’re going to be participating in a trash a thon. right now yo’re getting pledges from your friends and family to motivate you to do the work to earn their donations. all money will go towards our part of the end of the year celebrtion.

get your pledges. show up and pick up trash. it’s only one day, we’re making money for the team and most importantly we’re doing our part to take care of the environment.
